Hey, it’s David Andrew Wiebe with Music Entrepreneur HQ. I hope you’re doing well.

For me, quarantine fatigue has reached a new plateau.

Last night, I was trying to get to sleep and I couldn’t until about 2 AM. And finally, when I got to sleep, I woke up at 5 AM because of a nightmare. So, then I had to calm down again and get back to sleep. So, I didn’t have a great sleep.

So, I said to myself, “that’s it – I need a checklist for quarantine.”

Not like a to-do list, right? “I’ve got to do this, this, this,” you know? Obligate myself to more things I can’t commit to. Just more of a checklist to make sure that I’m at my best physically, emotionally, mentally during these strange times.

So, I put this together. And I thought it might help you as well, so I’m going to make it available as a free download at MusicEntrepreneurHQ.com/Join. It should be up there by the time you see this.

I’m going to quickly go over the eight items I’ve put into the checklist, so you can get a sense of the content that’s inside.

Meditation

The first thing that I had on the list is meditate. Meditation has become a very important practice in my life. I like to do up to 85 minutes in one sitting, and sometimes up to two hours per day. And I find the benefits are there – it’s calming – and it has so many benefits that we just don’t even know about or think about a lot of the time. It’s known to minimize PTSD in a lot of people.

So, it’s a very powerful habit. If you can do it for even just 10 minutes per day, it’s sure to have some benefits.

Walking

The second item I added to the list was walking. You should walk for a minimum of 30 minutes per day, hopefully a full hour.

We all need vitamin D. Anybody that tells you otherwise is just lying.

And I’m no healthcare practitioner, I’m no physician, and this is not health advice. But I don’t believe we should be sitting inside all the time. I don’t think it’s healthy for you. I think you should as much as possible, get some sun. Walk for an hour today.

Exercise

Next item is exercise, so that would be in addition to walking. If you want to maintain your physical health, or if you just want to sleep better or get into shape, maybe spend an additional 15 to 30 minutes per day working out.

And that way you’re probably going to sleep better at night, it’s going to release dopamine, you’re going to feel a lot better.

Read

Next habit is read. Read for maybe 10 minutes, or if you can do it, a full hour. We’ve got a great recommended reading section on our website where we suggest many books. That’s under products. You’re staring at the website right now, I believe, so you should be able to find that link in the top bar.

Go and find a book that interests you, and just engage in it. Because ideas spark momentum, and momentum is created in your business, or your work, or your music, and that creates more excitement and fun.

So, one thing leads to another, and reading is powerful, it’s a great way of working out your mind. It’s exercise for your mind.

Journal

Next point is journaling. Journaling is a great way to dissolve emotional, mental, physical baggage you may be carrying. There might be more going on there than you think, and journaling can be used in a powerful way – more than you might even realize. It’s a perfect tool for therapy.

So, there’s some links in the Quarantine Checklist pointing to some things you can learn about journaling and how you can use it more powerfully.

Driving

Next point is driving.  Now, this is just for me – I found it improves my mood to drive around for 15, 20 minutes or so.

If it’s adding financial pressure to your life because of gas or repairs, don’t do it. But if you can go outside in your locality, it’s something to give a try.

Connect

Next point is to connect. Don’t forget to connect with others. We’re all going through this together.

Go and check in with someone you haven’t talked to in a while. There are more benefits to this than you may even realize. Sometimes work comes from connecting with others. In fact, a lot of the time that’s exactly how it works.

Don’t go out there to try to get something but connect with people that you haven’t in a while and see how they’re doing.
